"Courtesy Bump"

It came up last year, so I thought I would take a chance to explain this on here to save you guys from being penalized for weighing in a short fish.  Everyone is allowed a courtesy bump, every tournament.  Not all bump boards are identical. If you have a fish that is very close to the 15 inch limit, but you are not sure whether it will bump on the official board, you may request a courtesy bump from one of the tournament directors before your fish our weighed in.  You may then bump the fish in question on the official board.  It will be your discrtetion as to whether the fish is a legal fish. If it is short, you may release the fish with no penalty atttached.  If you do not request a courtesy bump and weigh in a short fish, you will lose the short fish AND be penalized by also losing the biggest fish in your bag.

In the past, it was permitted to purchase your Otter Lake permit after the tournament concluded. This will no longer be the case. You now must purchase your permit BEFORE fishing, and it must be clearly displayed.  You may purchase a daily permit directly from me the morning of a tournament, or you can buy one from the main office in advance.
